CONNOR EAKES, Broomfield football — The senior dominated on both sides of the ball as the Eagles posted a 31-6 win against Denver South. Eakes helped Broomfield put the game away in the fourth quarter with a pair of short touchdown runs and thrived on rushing plays while taking direct snaps in a shotgun formation, ultimately finishing with 137 yards on 23 carries. Eakes also led a stellar defensive effort by the Eagles by recording a pair of interceptions.


MICHAELA McKEOWN, Boulder volleyball — The senior helped the Panthers end a prolonged drought against cross-town rival Fairview and also turned in a strong performance despite a painful, five-game loss at Monarch. During Boulder’s five-game win against Fairview, McKeown recorded a team-leading 13 kills while also posting 17 digs. McKeown was equally impressive as the Panthers fell just short at Monarch, compiling 10 kills and 15 digs.
