When Morgan Lu graduates in 2014, she’ll have set the bar high in multiple sports at young Mead High School.
A goal-scoring machine for the girls soccer team the past two seasons, she also placed 15th at last fall’s state cross country meet.
On Friday the junior added to her feats, winning the Fort Morgan Invitational cross country meet in a time of 19 minutes, 54.80 seconds. The victory was the first in cross country since MHS opened three years ago. And the Maverick girls’ third-place team finish Friday was also a program best.
Lu’s time was a new school record, while Mead’s Hayden Kessler did the same on the boys side with a time of 18:32.90 for a 29th-place finish.
