LOUISVILLE — Following last week’s first place finish at the Western Slope Invitational in Grand Junction, the Fairview boys tennis team earned a 6-1 dual victory Thursday afternoon at Monarch. The win moves the Knights to 3-1 in dual matches on the year and increases their confidence as they move toward the midway point of the season.
“We’ve been successful so far,” coach Chad Tsuda said. “We got to see some good teams (out in Grand Junction), some teams from Denver. Now we’ve got the Cherry Creek Invite, which will be our toughest test so far this year.”
Fairview plays in the Cherry Creek Invite Saturday. Cherry Creek also comes to Boulder on Wednesday for a dual at Fairview’s home courts.
“This is the deepest team I’ve coached in my five years at Fairview,” Tsuda said. “But the next week and a half we will see some of the best teams in the state and then we’ll see where we go from there.”
The Knights will have three duals remaining in their regular season schedule following next week’s match with the Bruins.
