GARRET ANGSTEAD, Skyline football — The junior quarterback overcame an early interception to lead the Falcons to a 41-21 opening-week win against Niwot. Angstead dominated the Cougars through the air and on the ground, accounting for four touchdowns with a pair of TD passes in addition to two touchdown runs. Angstead went 9 for 18 for 135 passing yards, throwing both his touchdown passes in the second quarter. Angstead also opened Skyline’s scoring with a 71-yard touchdown run in the first and added a 45-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter. Angstead finished with 187 rushing yards on 20 attempts.


Girls

SHELBY KEIL, Silver Creek softball — The senior infielder helped lead the Raptors to wins in four of six games last week, going 7 for 16 with eight runs scored. Keil blasted a pair of home runs to lead a 15-4 win against Longmont, finishing the game with a 2-for-3 mark with four RBIs. Keil turned in another four-RBI effort in a 13-5 win against Pueblo West, finishing that game with two doubles and four runs scored.
