COACH: Brandon Wilkes (1st year).

LAST YEAR: 10-2, 4-0 1A Metro-North League, lost to Burlington in 1A state semifinals.

RETURNING STARTERS: Justin Boldt (RB/FS, Sr., 6-1, 170), Erik Blair (FB/LB, Sr., 5-10, 225), Clint Hirschfield (G/FB/LB, Sr., 5-9, 165), Billy Housley (G/NT, Sr., 5-10, 160), David Plute (T/DE, Sr., 6-2, 240), Logan Watson (LB/QB, Jr., 6-0, 190).

OTHERS TO WATCH: Eddie Paisley (RB/LB, Sr., 5-10, 160), Trent Poulsen (DB/WR, Jr., 5-11, 150).

COLLEGE PROSPECTS: Boldt, Watson.

MUST-SEE GAME: Oct. 13 at Platte Canyon.

STRENGTHS: Strength and depth at skill positions. Watson should make a smooth transition under center and Boldt will be a force after missing last season due to an injury.

WEAKNESSES: Overall depth. Yes, it’s a problem at most small schools, but the Lions are particularly vulnerable after having just 30 players at preseason camp.
