Football: 2012 Longmont Christian Warriors at a glance

LEWIS GEYER
Longmont Christian senior Joe Leetch takes part in a drill during practice on Tuesday.

COACH: Jerry Martin (9th year, 30-21).

LAST YEAR: 2-6.

RETURNING STARTERS: Michael Rampson (Sr., QB, 5-10, 165), Caleb Flowers (Sr., LB/OL, 6-0, 175), David Petty (Sr., OL/DL, 6-2, 210), Aaron Rodarte (Sr., RB/DB, 5-11, 160), Trevor Dahl (Sr., OL, 5-10, 175), Cole Moffitt (Sr., DE/DB, 6-1, 160), Joe Leetch (Sr., WR, 6-1, 160), Ethan Wise (Sr., LB, 5-9, 155).

OTHERS TO WATCH: Parker Liske (Jr., RB/OLB, 5-8, 145), Josiah Bolyard (Jr., WR/K, 5-10, 150).

COLLEGE PROSPECTS: James Dick, Rampson, Flowers.

MUST-SEE GAME: Sept. 14 vs. Vail Christian.

STRENGTHS: The Warriors will return nine experienced seniors, which gives them a cohesiveness they intend to use to their advantage as much as possible.

WEAKNESSES: The loss of James Dick, the team’s only first team all-conference player who will miss the season with an ACL injury, will hurt the Warriors considering their overall lack of size and speed.
