KEYSTONE — After sitting tied for the lead through two rounds, recent Alexander Dawson graduate Cole Nygren struggled in Wednesday’s final round of the CGA Junior Stroke Play Championship at Keystone Ranch Golf Course.
Nygren carded an 11-over-par 83 to finish at 229 for the tournament, eight strokes behind winner Jimmy Makloski, a senior-to-be at Pueblo South who shot a 72 Wednesday.
Gus Lundquist, who entered the final round tied with Nygren, finished at 222 to tie Ross MacDonald for second place.
Nygren was tied for sixth. Several other locals competed, including Silver Creek’s Jack Adolfson, who was five strokes back of Nygren.
