Lindenstein: Boulder grad Havlick notches national title

Boulder High grad Miles Havlick, a junior at the University of Utah, added to his already sparkling Nordic skiing career on Friday by winning the first national title of his career.

Havlick won the NCAA crown in the 20-kilometer classical race at Bohart Ranch in Bozeman, Mont., helping the Utes to their eventual runner-up finish overall as a team.

Havlick’s big victory came two days after he was runner-up in the freestyle race at the NCAA championships.

Havlick is now a five-time All-American. Last season, he was named Ski Racing Magazine’s men’s Nordic Collegiate Skier of the Year.

Cool accomplishments for the local product.
