BOULDER —  Four minutes remained in Friday’s Class 4A girls basketball championship game when D’Evelyn guard Laura Tyree made a clean steal and went in for an uncontested layup. The ball rattled around the rim and then fell harmlessly to the court.

It was that kind of night for the Jaguars.

Air Academy scored the game’s first eight points, never trailed, and made winning the first girls basketball title in school history look easy with a 72-53 dismantling of D’Evelyn.
