BOULDER — Justin Smith was open. Wide open. It was almost too good of a look for the moment in the game he was taking it.
Moments earlier, in the Lewis-Palmer huddle during a timeout, Rangers star Josh Scott had pointed at Smith and told him to shoot with confidence.
So, when the ball left Smith’s hand from behind the 3-point arc with 38 seconds left, “It felt great,” he said. It went in. And, despite two late Sierra chances, Lewis-Palmer held on for a 44-43 win and the 4A crown.
