BOULDER — In truth, Josh Adams had dreamed of it. Just like any other basketball player who has put on sneakers, the senior at Chaparral dreamed of making the winning shot at the buzzer to win a state championship.

It’s just that he didn’t know he would actually do it, let alone in overtime in perhaps the most exciting play in championship history.

The gifted, athletic Adams, a guard signed to play next season at Wyoming, made an acrobatic, lefthanded tip-in as time expired to give the Wolverines their first boys championship in a thrilling 69-67 Class 5A championship game at the Coors Events Center.
