BOULDER — Chris Olson wasn’t kidding himself. He knew his D’Evelyn Jaguars weren’t favored Wednesday in the Class 4A Final Four at the Coors Events Center against top-ranked and undefeated Pueblo South.
So the coach sought motivation by wallpapering the Jags’ locker room with stories on the 50 greatest sports upsets he could find.
It probably won’t go down in history with the “Miracle On Ice” in 1980 or the Milan prep team from Indiana decades ago, but motivation is motivation.
D’Evelyn, which appeared to be buried early against the Colts, rallied in a big way in the second half for a 57-53 victory that pushed the Jags to their first title appearance.
