Niwot’s Cody Heimann missed most of a promising senior season with the Cougars. But, his basketball career isn’t over.

Last Wednesday, Heimann committed to play ball at University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash.

The versatile guard/forward played six games his senior season, four with a broken right wrist and two within a week of getting his cast off. But he still got to move on to one of his top schools.

“They’ve been one of my top schools for about a year,” Heimann said. “It’s in a part on the country that I’ve always loved and I like the campus.”

Heimann said his choice was between Puget Sound and Colorado College.

Having missed much of his final season with the Cougars, Heimann said the rest of his body feels great and his left hand has improved exponentially.

“All I did in practice all day was shoot the ball with my left hand,” Heimann said.

Heimann scored 27 points in two playoff games while playing entirely left-handed.
