AUSTIN WOOD, Broomfield basketball — Wood was a one-man wrecking crew during the Eagles’ Class 4A quarterfinal round victory against Golden. Wood torched Golden for 26 points, making 8 of 15 shots from the floor while going 9 for 11 at the free-throw line. Wood also added five assists and five rebounds as Broomfield advanced to the Final Four.


ASHTON DAVIS, Monarch basketball — With one of Monarch’s other standout seniors, Alexus Johnson, on the bench due to a violation of team rules, Davis helped pick up the scoring slack in the Coyotes’ Sweet 16 victory against Ralston Valley. The Air Force-bound Davis scored a team-leading 16 points, and also helped Monarch advance to the Final Four by scoring 11 points in the Coyotes’ Great 8 victory against ThunderRidge.
