DENVER — The Peak to Peak girls basketball team fell 56-45 to Machebeuf in the Metro League tournament semifinals on Thursday night at Manual High School.

Khadijah Sayyid scored 28 points in the loss to lead Peak to Peak, which staying within striking distance for most of the game against the state’s top-ranked team.

Peak to Peak will face Faith Christian for 3rd place in the league tournament at 3 p.m. Saturday.

The Pumas have already secured a spot in the 3A state tournament. The bracket will be released Sunday.

DENVER — Nederland fell in the semifinals of the 2A District 4 tournament.

Nederland will play Friday for 3rd place.

Win or lose, the Panthers have already locked up a spot in next week’s state tournament.
