Will Grubb, Boulder, basketball: Grubb scored a team leading 19 points.

Reilly Mau, Longmont, basketball: Mau was perfect from the free-throw line and led all Longmont scorers with 24 points.

Ryan Lozinski, Mead, basketball: Lozinski scored 20 of his 23 points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters to help Mead beat Weld Central on the road.

GIRLS PEAK PERFORMERS

Lena Jaycox, Boulder, basketball: Jaycox led all Boulder scorers with 20 points as the Panthers beat Greeley West 59-35.

Emilie Rembert, Silver Creek, basketball: Scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Raptors in a win over Mountain View.

Khadijah Sayyid, Peak to Peak, basketball: Had all of Peak to Peak’s 3-pointers, 4 steals and scored a total of 28 points.

Erica Artis, Frederick, basketball: Artis had 8 made field goals for a total of 17 points.

NOTABLE

Playing its first home game since the season opener on Dec. 1, Silver Creek girls basketball rolled past Mountain View. The Raptors had played 11 games in a row on the road, including their first five in Northern League play.

Monarch’s 67-50 loss to Fort Collins was the first loss against an in-state opponent for the 2nd ranked Coyotes.

Longmont Christian boys basketball came up just short against Front Range Christian, one night after beating Union Colony on the road behind a 20-point effort from Austin Jauregui.

Correction

A wrestling story in Friday’s paper incorrectly listed one of the Niwot wrestlers who registered a pin in Thursday’s dual vs. Longmont. Joey Lambert at 132 pounds earned a pin, not Nick Stager at 138.
