Boys: Ian McNabb, Silver Creek football

The Raptors’ tailback rushed the ball 35 times for 166 yards and a touchdown to help lead the team to a 42-20 road victory over Lewis-Palmer in the Class 3A state quarterfinals. The effort was particularly impressive considering the Raptors’ usual emphasis is on the passing game. McNabb’s touchdown came from 3 yards out to cap an 11-play, 88-yard drive that made it 7-0 late in the first quarter and set the tone for a run-oriented attack by SCHS, which hosts Palisade at 1 p.m. Saturday in the semifinals.
