NEDERLAND — Four turnovers and nine penalties — all in the first half — served to derail Nederland on Saturday as the Panthers saw their two-game win streak snapped.
Cornerstone Christian took advantage of Nederland’s miscues for a 42-6 victory.
“We just shot ourselves in the foot,” Nederland coach Aaron Jones said.
Nederland (2-3, 0-1 North Metro League) received 152 rushing yards from Joe Moctezuma and 103 passing yards from Rutger Storkamp.
The Panthers next host sixth-ranked Lyons, which is coming off a 20-0 victory over No. 5 Resurrection Christian on Friday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
