The Longmont volleyball team kicked off a big week with a 3-0 win over rival Niwot on Tuesday. The Trojans will take on another rival, Silver Creek, on Thursday. “It’s a very emotion-filled week,” Longmont coach Holli Stetson said. “Hopefully we can take some momentum (to Silver Creek).”
Boulder’s softball team rallied twice on Tuesday to beat Greeley West. The Panthers (5-4), who won just two games last year, scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game at 9, gave up two runs in the top of the eighth and then scored three runs in bottom of the eighth to win 12-11. “We were just all over the field jumping up and down,” Panthers coach Susan Geugan said. “We were so excited.”
