Holy Family’s boys soccer team is off to a 2-0 start and the Tigers have already scored 11 goals. They picked up four in a 4-3 win over Berthoud on Wednesday. “It was a good win for us,” coach Jim Schuster said. “Berthoud beat us last year, so this was an important game for us to see where we were at as a team this year. We’ve got a lot of scoring power this year, that’s for sure.” The Tigers have done most of their damage without last year’s leading scorer Preston Arguello, who got a red card in the first game and had to sit out Wednesday’s game.

Skyline’s Josue Chavez scored three goals to lead the Falcons to a 4-2 win over Sterling in boys soccer. It was the Falcons’ first win of the season. “It’s a good feeling,” said coach Luis Chavez said, whose team will take on rival Longmont on Saturday.

The Skyline volleyball team, which didn’t return a single starter from last year, started its season Tuesday with a 3-2 win over Northridge. “It’s great for us, because not a single player here has ever started a varsity match,” coach Will Rozum said. “To come out and find a way to win in five says a lot about that group.”
