200 medley relay — Fairview (Riley Tapley, So.; Alex Schwier, So.; Kim Lanaghen, So.; Kaia Reznicek, So.): The all-second season squad for the Knights set a school record with their swim at the state meet, going 1:44.63 for an Automatic All-American time.
200 freestyle — Mikayla Seigal, So., Fairview: Another Knights sophomore, her time of 1:52.99 at state was good for fifth and more than a 1.5-second drop from her seed time. Also placed fifth in the butterfly.
200 individual medley — Amelie Lessing, So., Fairview: In addition to her second place 500 freestyle swim at state, Lessing set a school mark in the 200 IM by going 2:05.15 and placing fourth.
50 freestyle — Sidney Trimm, Sr., Monarch: The Coyotes team leader, bound for the University of Houston, consistently swam mid-24's even after an October car accident. Her season best was 24.54 seconds and she finished 15th at state.
Diving — Madison Barkow, Sr., Niwot: Will pursue soccer at Northern Colorado, but she won't be forgotten as one of the area's best divers in years. She finished third at the Class 4A meet with a 448-point performance.
100 butterfly — Kim Lanaghen, Fairview: Also a talented medley swimmer, Lanaghen took full advantage of her signature event by placing third in the fly at 56.11. Her seed time from the season was 57.94.
100 freestyle — Cailen Chinn, Jr., Fairview: Chinn helped the 400 free relay team to a top area finish at state but it was her 1.2-second drop to 52.87 in her individual 100 that gave her the area's fastest time and an eighth place.
500 freestyle — Brittney Beetcher, Sr., Fairview: The senior did everything she hoped she would do this year, defending two individual titles and helping the young Knights to another large, glimmering trophy at state. She was once again the fastest distance racer in the state regardless of classification.
200 freestyle relay — Fairview (Seigal, Reznicek, Beetcher, Lessing): No team in the area came close to the FHS team of 1:36.37, which was a consideration All-America time and good for fourth at state.
100 backstroke — Riley Tapley, Fairview: Again well ahead of any other swimmer in the area in the stroke, Tapley rose to the occasion at state by placing sixth with a time of 56.87.
100 breaststroke — Brandi Vu, Jr., Silver Creek: The Raptors' versatile junior had a season best time of 1:05.42 and was right within that same time frame (1:05.92) at state for a sixth place finish. Vu also placed in the IM.
400 free relay — Legacy (Sophia Romero, So.; Peyton Tran, So.; Shannon Feran, So.; Elizabeth Nielsen, Sr.): The Lightning finished second in the Front Range League championships and although the state meet was a little disappointing, this foursome gave LHS a brilliant finish to the year by topping out at 3:39.07.
Coach — Sarah Stamp, Niwot: The Cougars gave Silver Creek a run for its money in the Northern League championships and ended up a respectable ninth place at state, and a lot of that had to do with Stamp and her staff guiding a younger team into focus when the spotlight was on.
