LONGMONT -- The Silver Creek girls swim team felt like it was just scratching the surface last season when it placed eighth in 4A with a freshman-heavy lineup.

The Raptors have eagerly awaited the 2015-16 season and its promise that their young group will truly begin to realize its depth of talent. At Centennial Pool on Saturday afternoon, the Raptors put their newly-cultivated depth on display.

Even without Jenna Latsko, one of the team's top senior swimmers who is currently sidelined with a concussion after slipping on ice Tuesday, the Raptors won the Longmont All-City meet by over 100 points.

"Niwot, Skyline and Longmont all have some strong swimmers and being an all-city meet, this is the meet to step up," Raptors head coach Debbie Stewart said. "We were trying to post results in the spectator area and you couldn't even walk through there it was so crowded. That's what this meet is all about. We all want the best bragging rights and we missed Jenna today but fortunately we've got some depth and our girls really stepped up and swam some great times."

The All-City was largely dominated by Niwot until last year's young Raptors won Stewart her first All-City title in 15 years of coaching the team. This year it was the Raptors' turn to dominate, as they scored 485 team points. Niwot was second with 374, Longmont scored 230 and Skyline was just behind Longmont with 225.

Sophomores Nikki Schlegel and Brandi Vu led the Raptors by winning two individual events apiece. Schlegel and Vu each also swam on two winning relays and hit 4A state cut times every time they entered the pool.

"Brandi was having a whole different meet," Stewart said. "She was kind of flat at the beginning of the season but I could see it in her body language that she would have a good meet today. She's going through a different type of training so she had a good meet today."

Niwot's Maddie Barkow, who has placed third at state in each of her first two seasons, won the diving competition with 475.90 points and freshman Hanna Luo won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1 minute, 3.65 seconds.

"We had lots of great swims and a new state qualification today," Niwot head coach Sarah Stamp said. "We're right in the meat of our season and still a lot of girls dropped time so we're right where we ant them to be. We just don't have that top-level muscle to compete against Silver Creek's top level."

Skyline's Alex Hellenberg held her own at the rivalry meet by winning the 50 freestyle in 26.27, as did Hannah Svendsen, who won the 500 freestyle in 5:32.45.
