LOVELAND — It Gray Hill's world, we are all just living in it.

The Shining Mountain senior single-handedly took over Friday night's Class 1A state semifinals game against defending champion Holly at the Budweiser Events Center.

Hill scored 32 to lead a dramatic second half comeback that sent the Lions back to the title game with a 62-59 overtime victory.

"Unbelievable! The heart that kid showed down the stretch," Shining Mountain coach Sean Lynch said. "Our senior, our leader."

The Holly Wildcats haven't had a home gym to play in all season.

The tiny southeastern Colorado school had issues with their new homecourt and were forced to play every game on the road.

To say they've learn to adapt to their environment would be a mild understatement. In the first half once again made a neutral site feel like home.

The Wildcats seemed to make everything they threw up against the Lions and carried a 37-25 to the break.

Halfcourt buzzer beaters, banked 25-foot 3-pointers or acrobatic and off-balanced lay-up's all seemed to find their way in the first 16 minutes, but it didn't faze the Lions.

Shining Mountain took it a possession at a time and slowly clawed their way back into the game. Ever patient with their offense, the Lions didn't bomb away from outside, instead kicked the ball down low to Hill, who was having a hay-day down low against the smaller Wildcats.

With 13.8 second to play in regulation, Shining Mountain tied the game up 53-53 on Gavin Edwards' 3-pointer, but gave the Wildcats the lead right back via a foul in the back court.

With 8 second to play, the Lions had one last chance to either force overtime or win the game and after the 3-pointer failed, Hill came down with the rebound, scored put-back and was fouled with 1 second to play.

He missed the chance to win, but made the most of the extra four minutes, scoring seven of the Lions' eight points in overtime

"Everything we needed at every big moment of the game, he showed up," said Lynch, whose team was poised at halftime despite the deficit. "We knew it was still a long game and we focused on every possession. I told them we are not going to lose this game in one possession and we aren't going to win it either."
