Shining Mountain's boys basketball team, if it can keep its dream season going, won't have to travel quite so far in quest of a state title.

The Colorado High School Activities Association announced Tuesday that the Class 1A state basketball championships have been moved from the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland to Broomfield's 1stBank Center March 14-16.

Shining Mountain is 14-1 and has been ranked No. 1 in 1A in the Denver Post coaches poll for several weeks.

The Class 1A quarterfinals, semis and finals will be played on championship weekend.

"Somehow there was a scheduling conflict between the CHSAA dates and the Colorado Eagles (hockey team) at the Budweiser Events Center," CHSAA assistant commissioner Bert Borgmann said in a release. "Fortunately it was discovered at a time where we were able to find a quality facility for this classification."

Other championship sites include: 2A, Massari Arena, CSU-Pueblo; 3A, Moby Arena, CSU-Fort Collins; 4A/5A, Coors Events Center, University of Colorado.
