The Holy Family girls golfers just keep checking boxes throughout this season, which has seen the Tigers make an improbable jump up to one of the state's best teams in just their first season returning to the fold after a hiatus without a program.

Next to the latest box the Tigers checked, it read: Win a regional title.

At Highland Meadows Golf Course on Monday, freshmen Hailey Schalk and Meghan Vogt placed first and second, respectively, and junior Heather Stauter tied for fifth while the Tigers ran away with the 3A Region 3 team championship.

"It went pretty smooth," Vogt said. "I've played the course a lot so I kind of went into today without being too worries. It felt pretty good for us to win it. We all had a good plan and we get along really well so we were pretty confident that we would do well.

Schalk, who had five birdies, shot a 2-under 70. Vogt had six birdies and at one point was 3-under, finishing with a 1-over 73. Stauter carded a 90 to round out the team score and clinch the team title by 45 strokes over the next closest team.

As a team, the three players were an impressive 17-over.

"It's really exciting," Tigers head coach Matt Schalk said. "I can't reiterate enough how hard-working our team is, and that's coming from someone who has been in the PGA circuit and coaching for years. We're super proud of these girls because they work their tails off, they're great kids and it's great to see them play so well."

A total of 84 players will qualify for the state tournament in each of the three classifications. Each regional qualifies two full teams and 13 individuals who are not on a qualifying team.

Also out of 3A Region 3, Jefferson Academy's Trinity Stuart (8th place with a 93), Maya Gordon (11th, 100) and Emily Grantham (13th, 103) all qualified for state.

With regional tournaments taking place across the state on Monday, Fairview's Kelsey Webster continued her outstanding season with an individual championship at the 5A Northern Regional. Webster took first with a 1-over 73 at Aurora Hills Golf Course. Teammate Sophie Nelson also qualified for state as an individual, placing 15th and scoring a 92. Knights sophomore Kate Jordan, who would have qualified for state with a 91, accidentally signed for an incorrect score and was disqualified.

At the 5A Western Regional, Monarch's Carly Gallant shot an 85 to tie for sixth place. Liina Nietenbach shot an 88, Grabrielle Ferro shot a 91 and Emma Teuton shot a 92 to qualify the entire Coyotes regional lineup for the state tournament.
