200 medley relay — BROOMFIELD (1:35.50; Harrison Lierz, Fr., Jacob Hahn, Sr., Austin Crump, Sr., Sam Anderson, So.): Part of the core that has turned the Eagles into a force going forward in Class 5A.

200 freestyle — Nathan Rock, Sr., Boulder (1:42.06): Rock has been a "rock" on the Panthers squad for four years and earns a spot on this team for the second straight year after making a championship heat in two events this season.

200 individual medley — Harrison Lierz, Fr., Broomfield (1:54.31): Big things are to come in the next three season for the Broomfield freshman, who finished fourth in this event as well as second in the 500.

50 freestyle — Justin Li, Sr., Fairview (21.20): For the second straight season the Fairview senior, bound for Washington University in St. Louis, was fifth in the state sprint.

Diving — Duncan Lester, Sr., Fairview (506.20): A slight miss in the preliminaries cost the University of Minnesota-bound senior a chance at a coveted state title; finished second last month at VMAC.

100 butterfly — Austin Crump, Sr., Fairview (50.88): The Broomfield senior, headed to Pacific University, qualified for the championship finals, but opted out due to a shoulder injury.


100 freestyle — Chris Wingfield, Jr., Silver Creek (48.43): The Raptors junior was a sprinting sensation for the Raptors and made the championship finals at USAFA, where most are swimming at a demanding 2,000 feet higher elevation than they are used to.

500 freestyle — Quinton Pierce, Jr., Boulder (4:31.78): The Panthers junior was a welcomed surprise and despite his seeding for the event, seventh fastest, saved his best for last and found himself on top of the podium after catching Broomfield's Harrison Lierz in the final 75 yards.

200 freestyle relay — FAIRVIEW (1:25.44; Michael Zarian, Sr., Will Brown, Jr., Joe Felton, Jr., Walker Martin, Sr.): This group's time was a consideration All-American time and Martin's anchor effort was good enough to out-touch Cherry Creek at the wall..

100 backstroke — Casey Hamilton, Jr., Legacy (51.18): The Lightning junior, swimming in his home pool, finished fourth in his best event and did so in an event full of underclassmen.

100 breaststroke — Michael Zarian, Sr., Fairview (59.09 in regular season): No, he didn't qualify for state in this event, but the Swimmer of the Year post the sixth fastest time in the event during the season and finished his prep career as Knights-best five-time state champion.

400 freestyle relay — FAIRVIEW (3:05.28; Michael Zarian, Sr., Walker Martin, Sr., Lochlainn Renfrow, Sr., Justin Li, Sr.): Knights' senior core saved their best for last in the states best race, posting a Automatic All-American time.

Coach of the year — Emily Austin, Broomfield: After a three year adjustment period to Class 5A, she guided the Eagles to an 11th place state finish and had two relays make the podium for the first time.
