200 medley relay — FAIRVIEW (1:35.93; Philip Manoff, Benjamin Morris, Raymond Guthrie, Walker Martin): After swimming a 1:35.61 in preliminaries, the Knights group took fifth place in the first final of the Class 5A state meet to help the Knights take fourth.

200 freestyle — Chris Nicholson, Sr., Boulder (1:37.85): The University of Pennsylvania signee swam an auto All-American time on this way to winning the 5A state championship.

200 individual medley — Michael Zarian, Jr., Fairview (1:49.98): The only 5A swimmer to win gold in two individual events at this year's championships, the Swimmer of the Year's auto All-American time was plenty fast enough to win the medley.

50 freestyle — Justin Li, Jr., Fairview (21.43): He took fifth at the 5A state championships with an outstanding time and will be back for more next season.

Diving — Duncan Lester, Jr., Fairview (483.65): Placing seventh as a sophomore last year, he moved up the podium to finish his junior year in fifth.

100 butterfly — Philip Manoff, So., Fairview (51.22): Still just a sophomore, he was the fifth swimmer to touch the wall in the 5A butterfly finals.

100 freestyle — Noah Jepson, Sr., Silver Creek (46.73): Part of an incredible 2016 senior class for the Raptors, he finished his prep career by taking home three medals, including bronze in the 100 free.


500 freestyle — Nathan Rock, Jr., Boulder (4:40.27): Second in the 5A 500 freestyle behind Zarian, he medaled in two individual events and won gold with the Panthers' 400 freestyle relay.

200 freestyle relay — FAIRVIEW (1:25.88; Justin Li, Walker Martin, Kailash Graham-Bell, Michael Zarian): This group took fifth place at the 5A state meet with one senior and three juniors in the lineup.

100 backstroke — Sam Willett, Sr., Silver Creek (51.15): One of two individual titles he won at the 4A state meet, this time was an All-American consideration mark for the senior bound for Claremont McKenna College.

100 breaststroke — Benjamin Morris, Sr., Fairview (59.81): Swimming a 59.36 in preliminaries, he reached the consolation finals and placed 15th.

400 freestyle relay — BOULDER (3:06.21; Chris Nicholson, PJ Stapleton, Mick Bartholomew, Nathan Rock): This senior-laden group not only won the 5A state title but also swam an auto All-American time to send its three seniors off with a bang.
