Lindsay Chohon, So., Niwot: Has worked hard in the off season to get a few new skills that will help not only with her all around score but of course the team score.

Abby Crosier, Sr., Legacy/Mtn. Range: Made the finals in multiple apparatus last year and has a chance to do so again.

Taylor Green, Fr., Niwot: It is rare that a freshman makes this list, but the defending champion Cougars are excited to see what she can add.

Abby Holbrook, Jr., Broomfield: Will take some time to work herself back into the Eagles rotation after a back injury in the spring. She finished sixth in the all-around competition at Thornton last year.

Heidi Liles, Jr., Broomfield: Coach Erika Taga is excited about the improvements Liles has made over the last year. Will be a threat on the floor.

Hannah McDonald, Jr., Niwot: A back injury has her status for the season up in the air, but if she is able to compete, her value is tremendous.

Natalie Prestwich, Sr., Legacy/Mtn. Range: The teams lone "club kid," has a chance to move up in the all-around standings.

Nicki Verheyen, Sr., Broomfield: Places sixth on the balance beam last year for the Eagles and hopes to be an all-around factor this season.

Regional meets to be held on Oct. 29.

State meet: Nov. 3-5 at Thornton High School.

Coach: Erika Taga (7th season).

Last year: Class 5A state runner-up.

Returning state qualifiers: Abby Edgerly (Jr.); Abby Holbrook (Jr.); Heidi Liles (Jr.); Nicole Remund (Jr.); Nicki Verheyen (Sr.).

Others to watch: None.

Outlook: The injury bug always seems to get the best of the Eagles in August and they always seem to come together, work their way through it and are at their finest late in the season. This year should be no different, and coach Taga's team has the talent to bring home some hardware for the fifth straight season.

Coach: Diane Clark (4th season).

Last year: Sixth at 5A state finals.

Returning state qualifiers: Abby Crosier (Sr.); Natalie Prestwich (Sr.).

Others to watch: None.

Outlook: Said Clark: "This year we have a lot of CARA/Recreational gymnasts. Natalie is our only 'club kid' competing at a Level 9. I expect to see a lot of improvement throughout the season, probably with a lot of ups and downs. There is a lot of potential among the team, and we are hoping to reach our highest."

Coach: Marisa Purcell (1st season).

Last season: Class 4A state champions.

Returning state qualifiers: Erica Bartfeldt (So.); Alexis Carroll (Sr.); Lindsay Chohon (So.); Lilliana Martin (Jr.); Hannah McDonald (Jr.); Amelia Sears (Sr.).

Other to watch: Taylor Green (Fr.)

Outlook: The Cougars are in uncharted territory for the first time in a long time as defending champs. Early season injuries have kind of subdued the repeat talk, but Purcell is doing a fantastic job of keeping her girls grounded. The work ethic has been fantastic and they are confident that when state rolls around that they will be ready.
