LONGMONT — Following a season in which the team went 1-7, the Longmont Christian football program will not field a team in 2017.

Longmont Christian athletic director Kami Puchino confirmed the school's decision on Tuesday.

While the team won just one game in 2016, since-graduated quarterback Luke Puchino put up incredible passing numbers. Puchino threw for 3,143 yards and 37 touchdowns, including a 679-yard, 10-touchdown performance in the Warriors' lone victory, a 71-20 win over Mountain Valley. He threw just nine interceptions.
