The Colorado High School Activities Association released the football postseason brackets for Classes 3A and 4A on Sunday morning and the teams were well-represented, as usual.

In Class 4A, it was no surprise to see the undefeated Longmont Trojans as the No. 2 seed in the bracket.

The Trojans finished state runners-up last season, losing to Pine Creek in the state championship game. Pine Creek (10-0) and Longmont (10-0) have been ranked Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, all season. With both teams still undefeated, they could be on a collision course for a championship game rematch.

In the first round of the 16-team tournament, the Longmont Trojans will face No. 15 Pueblo South (6-4). The Pueblo South Colts finished second in the 4A Southern League and went 1-1 against two common opponents - Pueblo East (L, 54-21) and Falcon (W, 24-21) - that it shares with Longmont, which defeated Pueblo East 48-27 and Falcon 45-26 before winning the 4A Longs Peak League.

Broomfield was 19th in the wild card standings as of Week 10 but ended up just on the outside of the playoff bubble in 4A.

In Class 3A, Holy Family (8-2) enters the postseason as the 10th seed despite losing its quarterback Chris Helbig, who was on pace to break Colorado's single-season passing yards record, in Week 9. The Tigers will roll with freshman quarterback Stone Samaras against No. 7 Evergreen (8-2) in the first round.

Evergreen is riding a five-game win streak.

Making the first-ever playoff appearance in the program's six-year history, the Mead Mavericks (8-2) claimed the 11th seed in the 16-team bracket. Mead finished the regular season third in the 3A Northern League behind second-place Holy Family.

The Mavericks' first playoff game will be against No. 6 The Classical Academy (7-3).

Centaurus finished just out of the postseason field, finishing 18th in wild card points. The top 16 made the tournament.
