BAILEY -- The Lyons football squad traveled to Platte Canyon Saturday with aspirations of knocking off the No. 4 ranked team in Class 1A but was unable to pull off the win, falling 36-22 on the road.

The Lions kept the game close throughout and were even looking at a tie ballgame as the third quarter was coming to a close. But with 30 seconds remaining in the period quarterback Logan Watson's hurried pass from the Lions end zone fell into the arms of a Huskie defender for a TD, giving the home side a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Watson led the Lyons attack all day, rushing for 85 yards and two touchdowns and throwing for another score.

LHS now sits at 4-3 on the year with two games remaining to determine their postseason fate.
