CELEBRATING TITLES

Boulder and Broomfield will both be holding pep rallies for their respective fall state champion squads next week.

Broomfield's rally for its 5A champion gymnastics squad will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Eagle Gym.

Boulder's celebration for its 5A champion boys soccer team -- the Panthers' first CHSAA-sanctioned team champ in any sport in 12 years -- will be at 11 a.m. Thursday.


WINTER COMPETITION ON DECK

With only football left competing among fall sports, winter sports officially begin competition next week.

The first day of competition for basketball, wrestling, girls swimming and ice hockey is Wednesday, while skiing will get rolling in December (Nordic) and January (alpine).


NEXT-LEVEL HONORS

-- Former Longmont volleyball star Tambre Haddock was named the Big Sky Conference player of the week after leading Northern Colorado to a pair of victories over Southern Utah and Northern Arizona, including a 16-kill, 10-dig performance in the former.

-- Former Alexander Dawson volleyball standout Michelle Betsinger was named to the Iowa Conference All-Academic team for maintaining a grade point average of 3.67 as a member of the Luther College squad.
