Noah Roper, Erie, football: Shaking off an early injury, Roper led the Tigers to a 35-14 victory over Pueblo South on the road. Roper had four touchdown runs as the Tigers, ranked No. 1 in 3A, improved to 2-0 on the season. He finished with 186 yards on 27 carries.

Girls peak performers:

Kaitlyn Strachan, Legacy, softball: Strachan went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double during a 13-1 win over Ralston Valley at the Erie Tournament of Champions. Strachan scored twice and drove in three.

Notable

Aidan Atkinson threw five first-half touchdown passes to lead the Fairview football team to a 43-0 victory over Evans High of Florida Thursday night in a Kaylee Scholarship Association game played at Celebration High School. Atkinson finished 17 of 30 passing for 301 yards. Henry Blackburn had three touchdown receptions and Bryce DesJardins had eight catches for 129 yards.
