Beth Buglione, the first female head football coach in Colorado history, has found a new gig. as the offensive line coach for Cherry Creek's freshman team.
"I’m most looking forward to working with the kids who are the future of the program," Buglione said. "I'm also looking forward to learning from some of the top coaches in the state."
Buglione, 53, moved from Portland, Ore., to take the head coaching position at Nederland, where she consistently struggled to have enough players to field a team as the Panthers turned in an 0-7 record with two forfeits and five blowouts.
Numbers and talent won't be issues at Buglione's new school, Colorado's largest by enrollment at 3,508 students and a perennial Class 5A football powerhouse at the varsity level.
"This is by far the largest program I’ve been a part of," said Buglione, who also worked as an assistant high school coach in Oregon. "And I’m humbled by coach (Dave) Logan’s trust in me."
