Thanks to one of the larger snow storms of the winter, Thursday's slate of high school athletic events have for the most part been wiped out throughout the Boulder County area.

The Boulder Valley School District, St. Vrain Valley School District and Adams County District 12 were among several districts that cancelled classes, and that parlayed into postponing all after-school activities, as well.

Basketball, hockey, swimming and wrestling teams were all just getting back from the mandatory week-long hiatus between Christmas and New Year's Day, and most hoops teams will be getting into league play this week.

Of note, the Monarch boys basketball team was scheduled to play Wednesday night against Gateway, but that game was moved to Saturday at 1 p.m.
