In just its second year of existence, the Top Gun Colorado Express 7-on-7 football team has grown to include players from all across the Front Range.

Coached by Evan Krier of Centaurus and having a roster dotted with area athletes, the squad has quickly become one of the top football club programs around, and that has cemented with two national qualifier tournament wins in the past month.

Most recently on Sunday, the team hosted and won the first ever Top Gun Denver 7-v-7 tournament, going 3-0 and outscoring opponents 58-31. For their efforts, the team qualified for the 2016 PYLON National 7-on-7 Championships in Dallas, Texas (July 1-3); the 2016 AAU Junior Olympic Games in Houston (July 27-30); and the IMG National 7-on-7 Championship in Bradenton, Fla. (June 24-26).

The finals of the Dallas tournament will be played at AT&T Stadium.

Back on May 7, the team won the Mile High Shootout to qualify for the IMG tournament, as well.

In 2015, Chris Helbig (Holy Family), Carlo Kemp (Fairview) and Matt Lynch (Legacy) were on the team, as well as Mariano Kemp (Fairview) and Travis Montoya (Holy Family) among others.

This year's team includes Montoya, Mariano Kemp, Jake Willemsen (Fairview), Michael Zeman (Holy Family), Ryan Mazzola (Broomfield), Stone Samaras (Holy Family), Elijah Silver (Centaurus), Matthew Francis (Holy Family), Ashton Nichols (Fairview), Kyle West (Skyline), Noah Snyder (Monarch) and Max Ward (Fairview).
