The Silver Creek swimming and diving squad left the rest of the Northern Conference in its wake Saturday, dominating the championship meet at the Greeley Rec Center.

The Raptors won seven of the 12 events, and easily out-pointed second-place Thompson Valley 527-348 for the team title.

Silver Creek got multiple event wins from Sam Willett, who touched the wall first in the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke. Lucas Bergeson (200 free) and Noah Jepson (50 free) took first while the Raptors won two relays (200, 400).

"Just a really great meet for the guys all together," Silver Creek coach Debbie Stewart said. "Sam Willett winning both of his individuals really did it for the team — swimming three events back to back with only one event in between to give him only about five minute recovery time.

"He wasn't the only one to carry the team as Noah Jepson stepped up to win the 50 Free and place second in the 100 fly. The relay team of Willett, (Ysef) Nammari, (Chris) Wingfield and Jepson broke the school record that was set back in 2007 (1:29.12)and the All Conference record that was set by Broomfield in 2014 (1:29.29). The divers did an awesome job with Ben Willett, Ashton Hubert and Matthew Teta."

Stewart said the Raptors have 18 individual qualifiers for next week's state meet and the team is looking forward to competing for the team title.

"The guys are very excited and ready to swim fast—this is one of the largest teams with individual qualifiers swimming two events each at state as well as a few swimming a relay or two," Stewart said. " One more week of rest and they will all be ready to go for some really fast swims."
