Delaynie Byrne, Broomfield basketball: The Eagles were crowned champions of the competition-hearty Fairview Festival, and Byrne had a fantastic tournament overall. In three games, she scored 62 points on 68 percent shooting and grabbed 23 rebounds, including 14 offensive boards. The sophomore currently leads the team in scoring average at 16.5 points per game.

Tommy Stager, Niwot wrestling: The 132-pound weight class of the Charlie Lake Tournament in Wyoming belonged entirely to the Cougars junior, as he earned two first-period pins and two decisions on his way to a gold medal. His championship match was a 10-3 defeat of Wyoming state champ Jackson Taylor, and for this he was named Most Outstanding Wrestler of the event.
