The Metro State women's soccer team is one of four squads separating itself from the pack in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and Longmont grad Alexie Marr is certainly doing her part along the back line for the Roadrunners.

The sophomore defender, who started all but one game last year as a true freshman for MSU-Denver, was named the RMAC defensive player of the week in the conference's most recent release (Week 4, ending Sept. 30) after the Roadrunners went 1-0-1 to move to 5-1-2 on the season.

Marr played in significant role in a 1-1 draw against Adams State, then helped pitch a shutout of New Mexico Highlands (1-0). In fact, she had an assist on the lone goal against NMHU.
