If a girls sport is happening at Centaurus, Shanlie Anderson is probably a part of it. Now, the softball/basketball/track/soccer player knows where she'll be playing next.

Anderson has verbally committed to play soccer at Northern Colorado

"I knew I wanted to go to UNC anyway," Anderson said. "If I didn't play soccer, I was probably going to go to UNC or CSU. I wanted to stay close - but not too close. I started talking to coach (Tim) Barrera, and after I went to a camp at CU, he pretty much said that he could find me a spot."

Anderson will officially sign on Feb. 8. Yes, that's two days after National Signing Day, but Anderson is delaying because her father, Greg, will be out of town of Feb.

Known for her superior speed, Anderson initially will concentrate only on soccer in college. A forward, her breakaway potential causes havoc for teams attempting to defend the Warriors. She also is a starting guard for the Warriors basketball team (11-5).

Anderson, who took no additional official visits, is delighted to have the signing out of the way before soccer season commences.

"I'm definitely way more calm than I was, because it's so last-minute anyway," Anderson said. "I'm so happy because I thought it would turn out to be even later."
