LONGMONT -- When Trey Fleming saw it was time to put the ball in the basket in the fourth quarter on Tuesday night, he rose to the occasion.

Fleming scored 12 of his game-high 20 points in the frame to lead the Raptors to a 59-44 road win over cross-town rival Skyline.

"A lot of it was the inner-city fire. That brought me up a lot," Fleming said. "I wanted to score a lot just because these games are big. There's a big crowd and a lot of motivation."

With the Falcons hanging within six points early in the fourth quarter, Fleming scored half of the Raptors' 24 fourth-quarter points and paced a 12-0 run that helped them pull away.

A big piece missing from their offense for much of the game forced the Raptors (4-1) to look to different players throughout. Brock Johnson picked up two fouls in the first six minutes and then his third just 30 seconds into the second quarter. With Johnson on the bench, the other had to pick up the slack.

"That's something that we can't have, especially with him being a captain and a leader on the floor," Raptors senior forward Luke Goforth said. "When he went out, we all knew we had to step it up."

Goforth added 13 points, an accomplishment considering he faced the Falcons senior Colton Dabney's explosive defensive ability.

"I think I caught him off-guard," Goforth said. "He's a very good player. He's quick, he's agile. I think I just beat him to the spots tonight."

Starting Raptors guards Zane Lindsey, Eric Machmuller and Fleming combined for 14 steals.

The pressure in the backcourt made it difficult for the Falcons to get the ball into the post where Dabney and teammte Zach Anthony can put up the points.

"It was definitely about free throws and turnovers," Anthony said. "We couldn't get the ball across the court a lot of time and we struggled getting the ball inbounds."

Senior guard Dustin Mandrell led the Falcons (3-4) with 14 points.

The Raptors will host Denver North (3-4) on Friday. The Falcons (3-3) don't play again until they host Mead (3-2) on Jan. 4.
