Font ResizeLAFAYETTE -- While Loveland and Thomas Jefferson slugged it out for the Boulder Valley Invite championship, the remainder of the local boys basketball teams competed in the consolation rounds Saturday.
Centaurus endured a 51-37 loss to Rampart in the third-place game, as the Colorado Springs-based Rams got 18 points from Donovan Oldham.
The Warriors (2-4) trailed 21-12 at the half and saw any hopes for a comeback dashed when Rampart (3-1) scored the first eight points of the third quarter.
Nick Milano led Centaurus with 10 points.
Of note, Thomas Jefferson defeated Loveland 62-53 in the championship game.

Poudre 48, Mead 34
A day after lighting up the scoreboard for 69 points in a win against Arvada, Mead managed less than half that total in a sluggish loss to the Impalas.
Aaron Cheung led the way with 14 points for the Mavericks, who finished 1-2 in the tournament. Ryan Lozinski chipped in 11 points for Mead, which entered halftime trailing 24-21 but managed only 13 second-half points.
Senior guard Trent McFall led Poudre with 13 points, including three 3-pointers.

The Tigers emphatically earned their initial win of the season, halting an eight-game losing streak that dated to last season.
Sophomore Kyle Leahy scored 13 for Erie and Blake Baker added 11.
Erie shut out the winless Bulldogs 18-0 in the second quarter and went to the locker room with a 34-9 advantage.
