Legacy senior Melanie Nun finished 35th in Saturday's national finals of the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships at Morley Field in San Diego.

Nun, who placed fifth at the Class 5A state championship in October, finished the course in a time of 18 minutes, 37 seconds. She earned a spot in the finals after placing 10th at the event's Midwest Regional two weeks ago in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

"I was a little disappointed, I think I might have got a little intimidated at the starting line, but it was an amazing experience," she said. "I think I learned so much this weekend just being around these people that I think I can improve so much in track and I'm so excited.

Nun was one of two runners representing Colorado in the competition. Cherry Creek's Jordyn Colter finished fourth overall, five seconds behind the winner. Anna Rohrer of Mishawaka, Ind. took first with a time of 17:25.
