The annual All-State soccer teams put together by the Colorado High School Soccer Coaches Association were released on Tuesday, and a number of BoCoPreps.com athletes received impressive accolades.
Often the coaches' all-state lists must be taken with a bit of a grain of salt, given that even the best players are omitted if a representative of that school or league fails to attend, or at least be represented, at the all-state voting meeting. Hence the lack of any players this year from Adams City, which received the No. 1 seed in the Class 5A state tournament. That said, Broomfield, Fairview, and 5A state champion Boulder all were well-represented on the three all-state lists.
Broomfield sophomore Noah Chapleski, who tied for second in Class 4A with 19 assists, received the most votes in Class 4A to earn that classification's Player of the Year award. Fairview's Eric Kronenberg and Boulder's Lake Brant finished second and third, respectively, in the 5A voting behind Player of the Year Miguel Jaime of Cherry Creek.
