Lyons High School's Paul Roberts never seems to be done adding trophies to his display case.

This past week, the Lions senior added another: the Colorado Gatorade State Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year award.

By winning the Class 2A state title in October, Roberts became the first in-state male to win four individual state titles in four years. He also led the Lions to 2A team titles in each of his four seasons and has run the best time of any runner in any classification at the past two state meets.

Amidst an incredible haul of state cross country and track titles in his career, Roberts also owns the fifth-fastest 3,200-meter time ever run by a high school athlete on Colorado soil and placed 59th at the IAFF World Cross Country Championships in China. This winter, he placed fifth at the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships and finished 11th at the Nike Cross Nationals.

Roberts will run for Colorado State-Pueblo next season. Before he moves down south, expect him to collect a few more trophies during track and field season in the spring.
