Less than a month has passed since Lyons' Paul Roberts and Monarch's Isaac Green had big-time performances at the Colorado cross country state championships.

On Saturday, both Roberts and Green raced in the Nike Southwest Regional meet in Arizona and represented their home state well. And they've set themselves up for even more accolades before the New Year.

Roberts, who won a record-setting fourth straight 2A Colorado state title in October, placed third at the Nike Southwest with a 5K time of 14:52. Green, who won his first 5A Colorado state title as a junior this past season, placed fourth at the Nike Southwest with a time of 14:55.

What does that mean?

The top five finishers at each regional meet qualify for the Nike Cross National meet in Portland, Ore., on Saturday, Dec. 5. So, both Roberts and Green are headed to natties.

Roberts will also compete in the Footlocker Midwest Regional on Saturday with a chance to qualify for the Footlocker National meet on Dec. 12 in San Diego.
