Max Carter-Kemp, Fairview track and field: Putting together a big day on his birthday, the senior set a stadium record of 49.65 seconds at Centaurus High School's Spangenberg Field and finished runner-up in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes to earn the Most Valuable Athlete Award at the Boulder County Invitational on Saturday.

Alia Mentzell, Boulder girls soccer: The senior is the Panthers' overall points leader with 15 (7 goals, 1 assist) and on Thursday, she scored to put the Panthers ahead in the 28th minute and assisted on an insurance goal in the 55th minute to help her team beat Front Range League rival Legacy 2-1.
